Vibration Welding

Operational principle:

The vibration welding belongs to the friction welding methods, with which the plasticizing of the jointing pats takes place through in warmth converted frivtion. The relative motion between the workpieces is preferably done via linear or orbital vibration drives. One of the two jointing parts is shifted in oscillations and pressed with the welding strength again the rigidly fixed second part in the clamping tool. After reaching a certain plasticizing within the jointing range, the control switches off the vibration drive. The cooling takes place under effect of the retaining pressure.

Application references:

As a function of the requirements of the connection such as tightness, mechanical load, firmness, burr-drove, a special geometry must be specified, which permits a relative motionbetween the jointing parts. During the construction coupling surfaces at the moved jointing parts are intended for the transmission of the vibration and fixing possibilities at the rigid workpiece.

  • small secondary influence of the sensitive construction units
  • production of gas- and pressure-tight connections
  • good automizableness

  • welding shaped parts (sprayinpoured, extrudes, blow-formed)
  • welding wide connections
  • Connections of different materials possible (e.g. plastic with rubber, textile fiber or wood fiber materials)
