3D Print Materials
There are many 3D filaments made from different plastics.
ABS and PLA are the most common plastics, with which probably every user makes his first experiences in 3D printing. PLA is very easy and good to print. PLA barely shrinks when cooling, requires only a low temperature to melt and develops a subtle odour.
ABS is a little more challenging. ABS requires a higher temperature than PLA and also shrinks significantly more. A heated printing plate is used when printing ABS for this reason.
If there are still difficulties when using ABS, we recommend our smartABS. smartABS has better layer adhesion and can be printed at a lower temperature. Adhesion to the printing plate is also better from smartABS.
ASA is very similar to ABS, but has better weather resistance and produces almost no odour.
You can make transparent objects from PET, PC or BendLay.
PC produces very solid objects and is more temperature resistant than PET. PET can be processed just as easily as PLA. BendLay is more flexible than PET and PC.
You can make high-strength and resilient objects out of nylon. Processing nylon is challenging, but the solid print results are absolutely convincing.
Our Soft-PLA is suitable for soft and flexible objects. The Soft-PLA is flexible like rubber and has a fantastic surface with a soft-touch feel.
If you are printing onto a smooth printing plate (for example a glass plate) we recommend the 3D-lac spray. You can simply remove the printed parts from the printing plate after they have cooled down.
We introduce you to the different materials.
