HiPS is a well established plastic for 3d printing that is lighter than ABS.

HIPS plastic is similar to ABS with its high strength and resistance. Technical parts are often made of this lightweight and high-quality material. Plastic casings and models are made out of HIPS. HIPS has a lower toughness as ABS and is thus more fragile when subjected to impact.

HIPS can be printed just as good as ABS, it has a slightly better flow behavior than ABS and can therefore be printed at a slightly lower temperature.

Upon cooling, HiPS shrinks almost as much as ABS. The greater and faster the temperature difference drops, the more even HiPS gets deformed (warp). We therefore recommend the usage of a Heated Bed. You may preheat the plate to 70-100 ° C.

Because of the warpage, the first layer has to stick to the surface. You will get a strong bond using ABS-paint or print on a PEI plate or a raft.

High-precision prints are achievable with our HiPS. And the beautiful colors make the use limitless. 

HIPS dissolves in lime but not in acetone.

It is resistant to oils, grease and alkalis. HIPS is not resistant to fuel.

The HiPS filament is supplied wound on a spool, for smooth printing processes without knotting of the material as it is possible with coils.

Our HiPS offers excellent printing results with a clean and smooth surface, is food-safe, REACh and RoHS conform.

This wire is primarily used for 3D Printer and Rapid Prototyper.

If foam comes out of the nozzle, the material has to be dried at ~ 75°C for two hours.
